Welcome to Chuckles Private Day Nursery website.

We value are staff highly at Chuckles Day Nursery and their training, development and achievements is vital to their happiness at work which helps create the family atmosphere at our nursery.

Our nursery is regulated by requirements at the national standards of day care, which states there must be a minimum ratio of adults carers to each group of children.

With children aged 3months-2 years there must be 1 adult to every 3 children.

With children aged 2-5 years there must be 1 adult to every 6 children. 

In practice we often have higher numbers of staff to children than this statutory minimum.

At chuckles we maintain our high quality of care by employing qualified and experienced staff. The government released the 10 years childcare stragety in 2004, which sets out targets that all staff working in a nursery had to have a minimum of a level 3 qualification and at least one member of staff must hold an early years professional by 2015.We already exceed expectations for the future and have two members of staff qualifies to degree level and these two members are due to start the early years professional in January 2010.

On Going Staff Development

Once appointed our staff are monitored and helped to develop using a process called Quality Performance Management,(QPM, which provides individual staff members with objectives to work towards.

Every 6 months staff can identify what their specific training needs are and design programme of training. This means that are staff are continually updating their skills, knowledge and experience.

Faye Wilson (Nursery Propertior) Cache Diploma Level 3.

Tracey Vincent ( Nursery Manager) NVQ Level 2,3 and 4. Tracey starts her level 5 in January 2010. Tracey is also our named person for senco. 

Ellen Jackson (Deputy Manager) NVQ Level,2,3 and 4. Ellen starts her level 5 in January with Tracey. 

Michelle Thompson (Pre-school Supervisor) NVQ Level 2 and 3. Michelle starts her level 4 in December 2009.

Sammena Kauser (Baby Room Supervisor) NVQ Level 3, Sammena starts her level 4 in December 2009.

Jameala Hyder ( Nursery Nurse) Cache Level 3.

Jessica Bennett ( Nursery Nurse) NVQ Level 2 and 3, Jessica is on maternity leave at the moment and is due back mid June 2010.

Shavonne Firth (Nursery Nurse) NVQ Level 3. 

Samira Afsar (Nursery Nurse) NVQ Level 2, samira is due to finish her level 3 early 2010. 

Denise Stocks ( Nursery Cook) NVQ in food hygiene. 

Susan Plouright ( Nursery Cleaner) NVQ in domestic cleaning. 

Sarah Bird, Sammy Jubb and Becky Lofthouse are our level 3 apprentices, they all hold a Level 2 Qualification.
